December 2007 Update:

We have a location for this new educational concept but we still need assistance with implementing the vision. We are embarking upon a one-time capital campaign to plant the seeds of educational innovation.

We purchased the building for $4.5 million with a short-term loan and have just been awarded a $4 million dollar Direct Loan by USDA Rural Economic Development for a long-term permanent loan.  In addition, the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority has guaranteed a $800,000 loan to 1^st National Bank of Durango for the balance of the permanent financing loan. 

We have raised $2,602,732 or 100% of Phases I and II of our capital campaign.  These funds are being used to remodel the current commercial building to accommodate a new childcare center, community conference room, classrooms, kitchen, student lounge, and retrofit The Commons to meet green building standards..

We are currently working on Phase III of the campaign and have need of $955,000 for a new HVAC system, outdoor play space for childcare, and re-surfacing of our parking lot.
