The Commons is the first of it’s kind in the country to house a continuum of adult educational services under one roof. 

The Commons will house the following agencies:

Alternative Horizons - To offer assistance and alternatives to victims/survivors of domestic violence and to educate the residents of the community about such abuse.   www.alternativehorizons.org

Alzheimer’s Association - For 25 years, the Colorado Chapter has lead the fight against Alzheimer's disease and related disorders by increasing the understanding of dementia and its impact on family and community, providing information and support for those affected, and promoting the advancement of research. www.alzrockymtn.org

Durango Adult Education Center – The nonprofit Durango Adult Education Center promotes lifelong learning programs for adults and families that strengthen literacy skills and encourage personal development.  www.durangoaec.org

Fort Lewis College outreach - As Colorado's public liberal arts college, Fort Lewis College focuses on undergraduate education, offering quality baccalaureate degree programs in the arts, sciences, and professional areas of education and business. www.fortlewis.edu

Pueblo Community College - Pueblo Community College (PCC) has provided the education and training that gives our students the skills they need to qualify for good jobs or to transfer to a four-year school. We are a two-year community college accredited by The Higher Learning Commission. www.pueblocc.edu    

San Juan Basin Area Agency on Aging

Sexual Assault Services Organization - SASO provides a 24-hour rape crisis hotline and support services for those who have been sexually assaulted and their friends and family. www.durangosaso.org

Southwest Conservation Corps - Southwest Conservation Corps (SCC) is a non-profit employment, job training, and education organization with locations in Durango and Alamosa, Colorado, and Tucson, Arizona.  SCC hires young adults ages 14 to 25 and organizes them into crews focused on completing conservation projects on public lands. www.sccorps.org

University of Denver - The Graduate School of Social Work is committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and community leadership and service.  Our mission is to foster social responsibility regarding social and economic justice, quality of life and multicultural communities, based on equality for all people. As a center for the creation and dissemination of knowledge, the School provides graduate social work education in order to alleviate and prevent social problems of individuals, families and communities. www.du.edu
